Spon: My Wendy’s Core Salads Experience

Wendy's BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad 2

I’m heading to the Thai New Year in Bangkok this week. Unbeknownst to me when I booked the tickets, it turns out April is the hottest month of the year in Thailand (science, hmm, probably should have known!), and I’ll be spending two weeks simmering in humid 100-degree weather. That means tank tops. And bathing suits. And lots of sweat.

Sooooo maybe I should have gone to the gym more. Gulp.

Alas, I didn’t. But where I’ve been careless in exercise, I’ve tried to make up for in eating right. Right now, I have a giant crush on Wendy’s salads, and have been getting the same type every time I pop by – Wendy’s Apple Pecan Chicken Salad. But I was feeling adventurous! I decided the apple pecan chicken salad could take a backseat – I was trying something new.

That’s where Wendy’s BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad popped in. Like seeing an old friend at yoga, this dish felt immediately familiar. But the best part wasn’t just the tasty salad – it was knowing where the crisp romaine lettuce comes from. I love the video below which shares the journey the lettuce takes to end up in your salad. If I didn’t want to be a farmer already, I definitely do now.

Wendy’s BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad harkens to a smoky backyard grill-out with fire-roasted sweet corn, freshly diced tomatoes, light and lively spring mix combined with Applewood Smoked bacon and grilled chicken drizzled with savory BBQ sauce, topped with creamy Simply Dressed® BBQ Ranch Dressing. Um, yum. In every Wendy’s restaurant, employees freshly chop vegetables every day, starting with full heads of iceberg and romaine lettuces and other veggies like cucumbers and tomatoes. Every salad entrée uses only premium white meat chicken breasts that are grilled at the time of your order and placed warm on your salad – you can definitely taste the effort. No dry chicken here!

Lunch at your desk that doesn’t make you feel guilty.

Of course, I’m not a saint. I had to grab some Wendy’s fries, too. Turns out, they’re delicious dipped in the BBQ ranch dressing. Give me all the sauces! I’m feeling way less guilty about being in a bathing suit, but I’m

Up close and personal with my salad.

Have you tried Wendy’s salads yet? When I get back from Thailand, I might need to scoop up a few more. (With a side of fries, of course.)
